HALSONIC

Cross-Border E-Commerce of Premium Audio Equipment under the HALSONIC Brand

HALSONIC is a brand dedicated to exporting and selling high-value vintage audio equipment and musical instruments sourced from Japan to customers worldwide.

High-quality Japanese audio gear and instruments command a passionate global following. Products manufactured from the 1970s through the 1990s, in particular, are experiencing a surge in demand on international marketplaces—in today’s fully digital landscape, the distinctive sound character that only analog-era equipment can deliver is being rediscovered and celebrated. Combined with the continued weakness of the yen in recent years, this has enabled strong profitability.

Carefully Selected and Serviced by an Audio Professional

Our CEO, Miyazawa, brings extensive professional experience in audio engineering and music production, with deep expertise across a wide range of equipment. From product selection and proper servicing to operational testing and packaging, every detail is handled with meticulous care—ensuring that each item is shipped in a condition that enhances its value by the time it reaches the customer.

This professionalism has earned high praise, and we are proud to serve customers across 10 countries.

Original Product Development for Music and Audio

In addition to selling quality vintage equipment, we develop original products that address unmet needs in the market.

TRS MIDI Adapter Cable [Type A / B]

We design and sell adapter cables that convert between full-size MIDI connectors (DIN 5-pin) and compact mini-plug MIDI connectors (3.5mm TRS).

A Product That Solves an Industry-Wide Problem

MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a critical standard developed in the 1980s for connecting and synchronizing multiple electronic instruments and devices. As modern equipment has become increasingly compact, a growing number of devices have adopted 3.5mm TRS mini-plug connectors alongside the traditional DIN 5-pin format.

However, because manufacturers implemented their own proprietary wiring before an industry standard was established, products with identical connector shapes but different internal wiring now coexist in the market. This has caused widespread confusion among users, with “it’s connected but it doesn’t work” becoming an all-too-common frustration around the world.

To make matters worse, the market is flooded with unreliable products from suppliers with limited MIDI knowledge, and repeated purchasing failures have bred distrust toward the product category as a whole.

Rigorous Quality Control and Information Sharing

To address this problem, we developed a product built on the following commitments:

  • Clearly identifiable markers to distinguish between Type A and Type B formats
  • 100% inspection of every unit using actual MIDI equipment for quality assurance
  • Collection and sharing of verified compatibility data from customers to support informed purchasing

We have received enthusiastic feedback from customers, including comments such as “I’ve finally found the product I’ve been searching for” and “It worked perfectly the first time.”

Going forward, we will continue to expand our product lineup, developing practical solutions for niche challenges in the audio and music space.
